Fans vragen zich, ook met het oog op Donny van de Beek (Manchester United), massaal of het nog wel loont om te investeren in spelers van Ajax. Bij Ajax moeten er jaarlijks spelers voor vele miljoenen worden verkocht om de financiële huishouding op orde te houden. De coronacrisis maakt dat belang nóg duidelijker, maar het falen van Ziyech en Van de Beek in Engeland zal het de huidige Ajax-spelers niet makkelijker maken wat dat betreft.
