Ronald Koeman zorgt voor woede-explosie in Engeland

Ronald Koeman is inmiddels al weer een tijdje trainer van FC Barcelona, maar in een groot interview met The Athletic blikte hij ook nog even terug op zijn roerige tijd bij Everton. Hij nam er geen blad voor de mond.

Zo noemt Koeman Everton ‘een club waar te hoge verwachtingen leven, en waar men in het verleden leeft’. Die uitspraak wordt door de fans van de Toffees niet in dank afgenomen; zij wijzen juist naar het falen van Koeman, en de puin die hij achterliet op Goodison Park. Volgens de supporters is de directie alsook de nieuwe trainer Carlo Ancelotti daardoor nog steeds bezig met puinruimen..

Never disliked an ex manager as much as him. Dont even dislike Big Sam as he did a job for us. Koeman was not even liked by the people working in the club.

@RonaldKoeman is a manager, who thinks, in his own mind, he can manage at a high level. History shows he can’t. Sometimes he lives on his performance in the past as a player and thinks he can do the same at Barcelona. Some jobs are just too big. This is another.
